Making People our Purpose
S&T is pleased to introduce S&T $10 CushionTM, a benefit designed to help our customers. If a customer’s account is overdrawn by $10 or less after nightly processing, an overdraft fee will not be charged.
“This is an important moment,” stated Jason Forman, director of consumer banking. “Eliminating NSF fees on consumer and business deposit accounts is just another way we are helping our customers strengthen their financial wellness. S&T $10 Cushion is evidence of our commitment to help our customers and provides an additional solution for overdraft assistance.”

What is the difference between an Overdraft Fee and a Return Item (NSF) fee?
Overdraft Fee
A bank can charge an Overdraft Fee when your account does not have enough money to cover a transaction, but the bank pays the transaction on your behalf. When this occurs, the money must be repaid no later than 30 calendar days after the creation of the overdraft.
S&T charges a $36 Overdraft Fee for each transaction that overdraws your account.
• Personal accounts – A maximum of five overdraft fees may be charged per business day.
• Business accounts – There is no cap on overdraft fees that may be charged per business day.
Return Item (NSF) Fee
A bank can charge a Return Item (NSF) fee when your account does not have enough money to cover a transaction and the bank does not pay that transaction on your behalf. When the dollar amount of the transaction exceeds your available account balance and the bank does not pay the transaction on your behalf, it “bounces”, meaning the transaction is returned to the originating financial institution without that money being taken out of your account. This can result in a Return Item (NSF) Fee.
S&T will no longer charge a Return Item (NSF) Fee for a transaction that is returned unpaid. View our fee schedule.

S&T $10 Cushion
If your account is overdrawn by $10 or less after nightly processing, S&T Bank will not charge you an Overdraft Fee.
S&T Overdraft Privilege
If your account has Overdraft Privilege and is overdrawn by less than or equal to your account’s Overdraft Privilege amount after nightly processing, we will pay presented transactions and may charge an Overdraft Fee for each transaction that overdraws your account, up to a maximum of five overdraft fees per business day for personal accounts. There is no cap on overdraft fees that may be charged per business day for business accounts. For questions regarding your account’s Overdraft Privilege amount and status, please speak to an S&T banker or contact the Solution Center at 800.325.2265.
