Neighborhood Assistance Program

- January 12, 2026

As part of our people-forward banking purpose, S&T Bank chooses to participate in the Neighborhood Assistance Program (NAP).
NAP is a tax credit program that encourages businesses to invest in programs that can improve neighborhoods in need. These improvement projects must fall into a category of affordable housing programs, community services, education, crime prevention, job training or neighborhood assistance.
By participating with NAP, we can effectively continue making people our purpose by providing vital funding with the distribution of monies being coordinated through the Department of Community and Economic Development in Pennsylvania.
In 2024, we provided $200,000 for NAP projects and these monies were distributed in 2025.
As proof point of the positive impacts these investments have had in our operational footprint, six organizations shared their experience with S&T and NAP below:
Altoona Blair County Development Corporation
“Altoona Blair County Development Corporation has a long history of economic development efforts to revitalize our Blair County community. Without generous partners like S&T Bank and DCED through programs like the NAP, we wouldn’t be able to do what do. We greatly appreciate our partners’ continued support to help us make the First Frontier – Blair County a place where people love to live, work and play.”- Tom Seasoltz
Family Promise of Southern Chester County
“Any day now, a newly single mom who courageously escaped domestic violence in her 36th week of pregnancy will bring her newest baby home to Promise House- a safe, stable place for her and her soon to be five children to grow, rest and rebuild. Thanks to the support of donors and grants like the Neighborhood Assistance Program from S&T Bank, this family has everything they need: a comfortable home, a crib, a highchair and peace of mind. Mom will work with a case manager to establish and address goals, including improvement employment, household budgeting/financial literacy and securing permanent housing.”- Lisa Patrone
ASSETS
At ASSETS local entrepreneurs benefit from the investment of the NAP program, such as local business owner Laurie Myers who shared, “I am truly grateful for the community I serve. Over the years, (wow almost ten years) their support has meant everything to me. I’m also incredibly thankful for Assets for providing the knowledge and guidance I needed at just the right times. This path hasn’t always been easy but having a community like this has made all the difference. Thank you for walking with me.”
Technology and Entrepreneurship Center
“Through the NAP program, The Technology and Entrepreneurship Center’s Innovate Indiana Startup Boot Camp, launched July 15, is an intensive six-week evening program that guides aspiring entrepreneurs through core start-up skills—ranging from business-model design and market fit to finance, legal formation and fundraising—using hands-on instruction and personalized feedback. Sessions run Tuesdays from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm through August 26 at TEC’s downtown Indiana facility, giving local founders an accessible, affordable pathway to turn early-stage ideas into viable ventures.”- Dr Erick Lauber
Bhutanese Community Association of Pittsburgh
“The funding supported in providing meaningful youth engagement through the school year. The funds from S&T Bank supported in part in serving 86 elementary school kids in four different school districts in the south hills neighborhoods in our After School program and about 48 youths in the Summer Camp that was six weeks long. Both the programs allowed
parents to continue to work while their child spent time with us in meaningful ways. Therefore, the funds supported not only youth development but also helped keep the economic status of the families intact as they did not have to find childcare for additional expenses.”- Khara Timsina
New Hope Ministries
Quote from Eric Saunders, Executive Director of New Hope Ministries: “New Hope Ministries is deeply grateful to partner with S&T Bank in addressing the needs of individuals and families facing housing insecurity and homelessness in Central Pennsylvania. Through the Neighborhood Assistance Program (NAP), business contributions are able to go even further in meeting community needs. Over the past year, S&T Bank’s support through this program enabled New Hope Ministries to assist 484 households in preventing eviction and securing permanent housing. Thank you, S&T Bank, for making a meaningful difference in the lives of people in our community.”
