From branch to branch, S&T continues to demonstrate our dedication to providing the best financial products and services to our customers right where they live and work.
We share in the responsibility of creating a better community in the way we provide loans to municipalities and nonprofit organizations, donations to qualified charities, and assistance to local housing authorities providing affordable housing for low-income families and senior citizens.
Charitable contributions or commitments by the S&T Foundation in 2011 amounted to more than $411,000. An additional $200,000 was contributed to educational organizations through Pennsylvania’s Educational Improvement Tax Credit Program. S&T has participated since the program’s inception in 2001, and its total contribution now exceeds $1.6 million.
S&T also takes a "hands-on" approach to financial education, making classroom presentations in more than 100 schools in 2011. With two programs sponsored by the American Bankers Association ‐ Teach Children to Save and Get Smart About Credit ‐ our employees reached nearly 8,000 students with lessons about saving, budgeting and using credit responsibly.
Volunteerism is woven into the fabric at S&T, where staffers support fundraisers and walk-a-thons each year to benefit a range of nonprofits.

One indication of our dedication to fostering a positive work experience for our employees is the national recognition we’ve received from AARP. For exemplary practices in the recruitment, retention and promotion of older workers, AARP has selected S&T Bank as a "Best Employer for Workers Over 50."
S&T was specifically recognized for creating a workplace that supports the contributions of older workers to the business community. We are one of three financial services institutions nationwide and one of four Pennsylvania-headquartered organizations to make AARP’s 2011 list of 50 winners.
Our employees are a also committed to each other. The Helping Hands Fund was established in 2001 to assist S&T staffers coping with personal emergencies. During 2011, employees donated $11,700 and 34 vacation days to help 28 of their colleagues.
